Miracles do happen! I was referred to ftp in November 2019, investigation started January 2022 and finally today, found out CASE CLOSED. Without a doubt one of the hardest things to go through as everyone can relate. Thank you Cathryn, Simon and everyone else.

I have been a registered nurse (RMN) for 11 years. I worked at the same hospital for 10 years. I made a medication error and I was investigated for the medication error. Eventually I was referred to the NMC by them. I left the company in 2021.
The initial referral to NMC was torture. I didn’t understand the process at all, the only thing I remember was I was adamant I would be suspended from the register with no job and income.
Honestly, I found this group and the support I received from Cathryn and Simon was second to none. I am forever grateful to them.
I was given conditions of practice which I worked through for around a year and a half at a new job as a Clinical Lead.
I was so lucky and grateful to find a hospital that supported my conditions of practice.
Finally after one year and 7 months since my referral to the NMC my conditions of practice have been removed and my case is now closed.
Please, those who are going through this process, don’t give up. There are so many times that I have considered scrapping this whole process because of the stress. Please don’t give up, better days are coming for you all.

“There is no doubt that I could not have gone through this without NMCWatch. Following the suspension order I was broken, considered leaving nursing and coming off the register. NMCWatch put me back together and made me a stronger and better version of myself, I will always be grateful xxx”

Simon Holborn and Cathryn Watters were my legal team and were both so incredibly knowledgeable about the whole FtP process. Without them, I would never have got through my long and torturous process and indeed a hearing that spanned over six months. Cannot thank them enough for all their help and support.

Simon was brilliant this morning… my partner said to me today that Simon achieved so much for me in 2 days [that my] stupid union didn’t do for almost 2 years!

When I thought I was losing everything, felt worthless and hopeless, and my anxiety was high, I would talk things through with my buddy. They would calm me down, put things back into perspective and help me to restart.
Thank you for the buddy system. Talking through the challenging times is a lot easier knowing someone has gone through a similar process and can really relate to how you are feeling. I am forever grateful.
