What we do
Campaigns
NMCWatch is demanding a change of culture in the NMC so that nurse, midwife and nurse associate registrants are properly safeguarded during the FtP process and patient safety is better ensured from lessons learned.
Since 2017 we have worked to bring change to what we know is an unbalanced, unfair, and opaque Fitness to Practice referral system.
We want our healthcare system to be as robust as possible, to ensure better patient care. By helping registrant healthcare workers get the best result from any referral to the NMC, we feel we can do our bit to make this more likely.
We support registrants, they become better at their jobs, the patients in their care get a better outlook.

We try to offer support to the NMC, when they are in the mood to accept it. We consistently call out their bad practices and processes. As a regulator, they are not unique in neglecting their moral responsibilities towards their registrants.
Our campaigns focus attention on some of the issues that demonstrate where the NMC need to change.
By combining years of anecdotal evidence of the often devastating effects of FtP referral, with an increasing body of statistical data, we can highlight where the process is flawed and offer solutions to help make the NMC, themselves, fit to regulate.

We always need extra help ourselves.
Time or money. Both really make a difference to what we can achieve on your behalf. Think of it as an investment in your own future, whether you are a caregiver, or a potential future patient!
You can read more about how we use donations on the donations page.
